From Auvillar to Donzac… Treasures of Western Tarn-et-Garonne

9.45 am AUVILLAR: guided tour of the village and its museum – duration 2 hours

Auvillar, a significant city since Gallo-Roman times, is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, distinguished by its triangular town square. Immerse yourself in the architectural universe of the 17th and 18th-centuries houses (arcaded and half-timbered houses) built around this square, featuring a very unique circular covered market hall. Rediscover the traditional marketplaces of yesteryear (storage areas, cantilevers, moldings, and decorative brackets).

Visits include the earthenware (collections from the 18th-19th centuries – mechanisms of primitive clocks) and boating museum (craftsman’s models, boat models, ferry, ship mill).

Enjoy lunch at an auberge, where the charm of the place and the choice of dishes will tantalize your taste buds.

2.30 pm Guided tour of the CONSERVATOIRE DES MÉTIERS D’AUTREFOIS in DONZAC – duration 1 h 30 – 2 h

Visit Donzac and explore an extraordinary museum. Through recreated scenes of ancient professions, discover rural life from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.

Highlights include: a rich collection of accessories, a fully recreated grocery store, and a mechanical piano from 1870.
